The first of many goodbyes – Ammon is 2 ½ months old and we are finally saying goodbye to the newborn diaper. Hello 1s.Yesterday was yet another rainy day and spirits were not as high in the Thomas home as they were on Thursday. Ammon wasn’t in a fine mood and ended up spending the majority of the day in his swing – as this was the only thing he seemed to enjoy. Trust me, we tried everything else twice.
Because Ammon was in his swing (and content), I was able to get so much done… including making bread! Can you believe it… I made bread?! In a bread maker and with a super-easy recipe… but I made bread... and it was yummy! I also dusted, folded Ammon’s laundry, made my Christmas card boxes that I do every year, and braved a new recipe for dinner. Just call me Martha.
Ammon didn’t have a very good night. It was after 11:00 that we were really able to put him down. He slept until about 3:30, but had a hard time after that. He ended up sleeping with his dad (which I’m sure was his idea to begin with, “Why should I be in a cage?”). I went downstairs this morning and was met with Brian and Ammon watching Fraggle Rock. How fun is that?
Brian has been diligently working on a paper for school for the past week. He finally finished this morning. Hooray! He can now be a part of the family again, and not be tied to the computer. He watched Ammon this afternoon while I took care of some things I needed to do. We will be doing our weekly “weekend errands” tonight… cross your fingers that all goes well.
For the record: It appears that Ammon is trying very hard to suck his thumb. His dad and mom were both thumb-suckers. I guess it runs in the family…

Yeah, you really are like Martha. You are just so together... You're awesome :).
Yay for Fraggle Rock and daddies taking care of the grumpy one! And what are your Christmas card boxes?
In answer to Kira's question: I take the Christmas cards that I received at Christmas time and fold them in to little boxes. The front flap of the card is the top of the box, and the back flap of the card is the bottom of the box. You can kind of see this in the picture. I display all of the boxes from all of our Christmases in a big basket at Christmas time. That probably isn't a very good description, but...
congratulations on bread making! That is something that I haven't been able to conquer. I guess the bread maker helps..... I should look into getting one of those.
How are YOU doing? Your baby is adorable. :)
You are too cute, Stacy :)
