conversations

A look into one of the frequent battles here on Woodburn Drive – referencing the differences between Peter Cullen (who provides the voice for Optimus Prime in the Transformers cartoon series and movies … and whose voice, by the way, is considered to be the voice of God to boys of the 80s) verses Edward Cullen (whose charms speak for themselves):

Brian: “Peter Cullen is the best Cullen. At least he’s a real person!”

Stacy: “But you aren’t in love with Peter Cullen, you are in love with Optimus Prime. Peter Cullen is an old man. Optimus Prime is a robot. I don’t know which is worse.”

Brian: “But at least he’s a real person! Edward Cullen is fiction!”

Stacy: “Well – dearest – I would much rather obsess over a vampire who, at one point in time, was a h.u.m.a.n … than a r.o.b.o.t who only ever was a r.o.b.o.t .”

Brian: “You don’t know that there isn’t a real Optimus Prime out there somewhere – someplace – saying, “Freedom is the right of all sentient beings.” Take that E.d.w.a.r.d .”

Stacy:Uhexcuse me?”

Wait...what?!

Hey, at least your husband is willing to fight that fight with you! My husband hears my side of the story, and that says, "so what? Your vampires are gay anyway. Only fairies and gay men sparkle...and he doesn't have wings."

It kind of kills any fight in me.

exactly. please find one person on the face of the earth (besides my husband) who can explain that last statement. it's right up there with 'those twilight vampires aren't *real* vampires'.

boys. shesh. i guess we'll keep them, though ...

That's hilarious! I love that you can at least have the fight. Jacob just picks on me. He doesn't know all the details though because he wouldn't be caught dead reading the series.

And the comment Lyndsey's husband said about fairies and gay men sparkle is totally something my husband would say too. Which is sad. haha

yeah laci ... jacob gave me a hard time after i had my twilight party in march. he just happened to be in town that weekend and kept brian and ammon company.

and even though brian does have that 'fight' with me and at least 'talks' with me about it ... trust me when i say that he still picks and teases and otherwise drives me up the wall because of my twilight obsession(s). really, he makes fun of me even more.

love you guys!
